Healthy Electrolytes = Healthy Blood Pressure

Electrolytes are key to regulating blood pressure.  Research shows that sodium can increase blood pressure and potassium can lower blood pressure.  Calcium and magnesium also play a role in raising or lowering blood pressure.     Good electrolyte balance supports healthy blood pressure.

Normal blood pressure is considered to be  120/80

Prehypertension is considered 120–139 Or 80–89

High blood pressure 140/90 or higher

Low blood pressure is defined as 90/60.

Keep in mind if  even one of the readings (systolic /top number or diastolic/bottom number) is high or low, your blood pressure is abnormal.

The spread between top (systolic) and bottom (diastolic) readings is called the pulse pressure and should be 40 points.
